APR Sway Bars are constructed from high-tensile strength steel, known for its excellent durability properties. To reduce weight without compromising strength, these bars are hollow. Each bar is precision CNC-bent from a single piece of bar stock, eliminating welds and significantly reducing the risk of failure compared to traditional manufacturing methods. The bar ends are forged into shape and then quench-hardened in specialized fixtures to achieve the highest strength profile possible, and then dimensionally confirmed in final check fixtures. Lastly, each sway bar is coated with a corrosion-resistant red powder coat, offering both durability and a sleek appearance. APR Roll-Control Sway Bars are engineered to significantly improve cornering performance by reducing vehicle body roll without greatly impacting comfort. Drivers who enjoy a more spirited driving style often encounter excessive body roll, which negatively impacts handling. During cornering, the vehicle’s body leans to the opposite side, shifting weight primarily to the outside tires. This uneven distribution reduces grip on the inner tires, resulting in decreased overall traction and stability. On this particular model, we’ve increased the bar diameter to 28 mm, with a 4.5 mm wall thickness, an upgrade from the factory’s 24.1x3.9mm (MK7 GTI) and 24.3x4.1m (MK8 GTI) size. This enhancement results in a spring rate of 333/383 lbs/in delivering a 85%/114% and 62%/86% increase over the factory MK7/MK8 GTI bars. These changes translate to significantly improved handling, reduced body roll, and a more responsive driving experience. Our solution?
